The Cinemagram App

Have you heard of the app Cinemagram yet?
Mind boggling, right?
I was just introduced to this iPhone app over the weekend by the ladies at brit.co.
Cinemagram lets you create pictures that move, almost like a GIF.  But there is a catch, you get to choose which part of the photo moves!  First, you take a short video of the scene you wish to capture.  Then, you select which part of the video you would like to move.  The rest of the video will stay still, like a photo.  Oh ya, and the app is free in the app store!  The opportunities are endless on what to capture next.
Here are a few cinemagrams my boyfriend and I created over the weekend....
Okay, this one is a BIT creepy

The app reminds me a lot of instagram.  You can follow people, like  other peoples photos  and it has its own feed so you can see what videos your friends are coming up with!

Are you on cinemagram yet?

Weekend Getaway: Santa Ynez Valley

Last weekend my family and I meandered our way down the 101 to the Santa Ynez Valley for a weekend getaway.  We spent our days wine tasting at boutique wineries, eating italian food, and soaking up the sunshine and rolling hill views.

Our home for the weekend
We stayed here, which I found on VRBO.com-my favorite site ever for vacation rentals!  The ranch-style house was perfect for a large group and included a game room, enough beds for 5 couples, bocce ball court, and a bunch of outdoor seating.  The owner was great and always responsive to any of my questions I had regarding the rental.

On Saturday, we hopped in a limo and wrapped our way up Foxen Canyon Road to visit a few wineries. We started at Tres Hermanas, a quaint, no frills boutique winery.   Then we headed to Demetria Winery, a great stop for a picnic lunch with amazing views.  Our picnic table was tucked away in the trees just beyond the tasting room.  We picked our lunch up in the morning from Panino in Los Olivos.

We finished the weekend off by playing at a friends ranch and eating at Grappolo's, a tiny Italian hotspot in Santa Ynez.  The bruschetta, margherita pizza, and linguine mare monte were some of our favorites!

Until next time, Santa Ynez!
