Miami Bound!

Neon, neon, and more neon!!

I am headed to Miami this week for my cousin's bachelorette party with 12 California girls for a weekend of debauchery! 

We are beyond excited- I keep catching myself yelling, "I'm in Miami, Bitch!" 

My outfits are all planned and my suitcase is jam packed with colorful ViX bikinis, Forever 21 accessories, and party dresses.  

Let the countdown to Wednesday begin! 

P.S- How cute are these DIY glitterized champagne flutes we made?  We added some good ol' Martha Stewart glue to the bottom and doused them in bright glitter.  
They are all packed and ready for some South Beach cocktails! 

Weekend Getaway: Tiburon

 My new favorite hidden gem tucked away right across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Last weekend, I surprised my boyfriend with a weekend getaway to Tiburon for his birthday.  It is the cutest little town full of sweeping ocean views, fancy homes, biking trails, greenery, and eateries.

We spent the morning sipping on mimosas and bloody mary's on the deck of Sam's Anchor Cafe, which overlooks the bustling yacht harbor.

Then we made our way up the street to Guaymas, an upscale mexican restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating and beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline and Angel Island.

Our hotel, The Lodge at Tiburon, was cozy and newly remodeled.  We were blocks away from the water, downtown area, and great views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

On Sunday, we hopped on the 10 minute ferry ride to Angel Island.  We rented bikes and rode around the whole island, which only took about an hour.  Our favorite part!

Day Trip to Angel Island

Searching for an afternoon destination to get a breath of fresh air and escape the hustle and bustle of the city? 

 Angel Island is your perfect escape when the weather is nice!  The island is home to a historic army camp, an old immigration station and is currently a California State Park.  Just a short and easy ferry ride from San Francisco or Tiburon, the island is full of activities for an afternoon getaway.  Many of miles of hiking trails, hidden beaches, history, and mountain biking awaits the adventurous weekend warriors.

Rent bikes at the Cove Cafe for $12.50 an hour. Or better yet, bring your own bike from home (they are welcome on the ferry!) Head onto Perimeter Road which will take you around the whole island for five miles.  Starts out a bit like a mountain bike trail followed by a nicely paved road.  

Keep your eyes peeled for spectacular views of the city skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge!  Pack a picnic lunch, and set up camp at one of the picnic tables with a view.

Not the athletic type? Gain some knowledge aboard the Tram Tour which takes about an hour and drives you along the whole island.  Or post up at the Oyster Bar and listen to live music.
